YOU CAN GO access workers are there to help you:
- Explore future career paths and employment options that would really fit your interests
- Discover why a post-secondary education is a step you ought to consider seriously
- Identify post-secondary programs at various colleges, universities or technical institutes or apprenticeship programs
- Select the programs/ school(s) most likely to meet your needs
- Put together a plan to complete applications for program admission
- Become familiar with a variety of resources that can help you finance your post-secondary studies (including bursaries,
loans and scholarships)
- Assemble the information you will need to make applications for scholarships or student financial aid
While services are open to all, activities in your communities are specifically designed to reach you if you
- are the first in your family to consider going on to post-secondary studies
- belong to a First Nations, Métis or Inuit community
- have recently arrived in Canada.
Services include workshops (see WORKSHOPS) as well as group and individual advising sessions.
These services may be offered through your school, at your local YMCA or at other community locations depending on the city
or region where you live.

As of October 1, 2008, access workers are available in selected YMCAs in the following cities: Vancouver, Prince George,
Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Winnipeg, Toronto (North York and Toronto Centre), Montreal (Hochelaga-Maisonneuve and NDG) and
Quebec City.
Beginning in January 2009, YOU CAN GO access workers will also be located in YMCAs in Fredericton, Halifax and
St-John’s.
